Though her friends and associates warn her of what can happen when the dazzle wears off, Yarnell moves blissfully forward with her marriage to Mark. Early in the marriage she gets warning signals that Mark’s expectations exceed her ability to deliver, precipitating a breakdown in communication and eventually a heart-splitting divorce.

This is an intimate portrait, revealing feelings, thoughts, and the very honest mistakes we can make when we fall in love and assume it’s going to last forever. In time, Yarnell manages to appreciate her marriage for what it was; part of her message is that every relationship is different and shouldn’t be forced into the same mold. By sharing her own process of adjusting to the reality of love’s end, she encourages us not to equate the success of a relationship with its longevity.
